I have tried it. Not really impressed, especially with Smarty templates. It has a “static pages” section that acts like a mini CMS but not really robust. I think this and CS-Cart came from the same roots. If you are going to go this route I recommend CS-Cart over X-Cart, I am using it for a few of my clients and after the nightmares and cold sweats everything is running pretty well. I would never think about trying to integrate it with EE, the membership tables are to intertwined, meaning your either going to go broke trying or end up pretty much rewriting the whole thing.
