    Hi All,

So what I have right now is an app built on CI that parses some data, does some fun things with it and dumps it to the database. Then I have a convoluted admin panel that is quickly exploding due to Scope Creep and Clientexpectationitisexpandousis (nasty disease…) *my own app by the way - I am the client :p

Anyways now the feature set is looking more like a EE site with some custom CI functions, which would easily live within a folder on the EE site.

    Here is my question.

Does anyone have any experience with creating an app control panel using EE templates and member permission? What I am envisioning is a template group called “admin” and within it having some straight php to pull my data sets and them working with them. Open flash charts and graphing and whatnot….

This would elevate the majority of my other pains, but alas, as this is web development stuff, does anyone see the new pain I will be replacing the old one with?

If you have an example you could show me that would be awesome.

    Thanks all,

    -Lee

The idea of creating an admin control panel in the EE templates is probably no different than creating any other type of page in a template.  Of course you would just use the member permissions to allow only certain groups to access those pages.  From there, it really depends on the features you want to build in.  I don’t really see a problem based on your description.

    Hey John,

Thanks for the reply, I guess what I was getting at is there any foreseeable conflicts with things like URL handling, data sanitizing, weird/unexpected behavior for inclusions of libraries etc…

I should have been more clear in my question.
