    EllisLab - not EllisLabs.

And by the way, I’m cool so I should win.

Not that I am entering, but nevertheless!  Awesome contest, Marcus. =)

My everlasting thankfulness that there is someone as cool as you in the universe that will help me through my questions even when it is as stupid as some of my questions have been… There.  😉

    How’s that?

So many people misspell it, that it only makes sense to have both versions.  It’s obviously out of necessity, though.

    ENABLERS!!!!!

Sorry showing my ignorance here but what does enablers mean?

So many people misspell it, that it only makes sense to have both versions.  It’s obviously out of necessity, though.

I have to disagree with that I’m afraid. If you go and purchase both domains because people are getting it wrong then there is something wrong with your original advertising. You can’t have a go at people for saying the wrong thing if you go and advertise it like that.

I have been working in advertising for the past 9 years now and in that time I’ve made over 40,000 radio adverts (just a few 😉 ) and we never EVER advertise someone’s name incorrectly to get people who don’t know what it is in the first place. The fact is that if you are doing that then your advertising campaign just wasn’t effectively targeted in the first place.

Anyway I know now and so will delete that site from my bookmarks and will remember from this day forward. I still believe it’s a mistake to purchase a domain name that isn’t your company name and to then complain when people get it wrong though.

Anyway back to the thread at hand as I’ve probably distracted from it a bit too much methinks 😉

    Best wishes,

    Mark

    Mark,

Enablers = those who enable.  In other words, perpetuate the mistake.  The same point that you made in your last post, which I don’t disagree with.  Though, I wouldn’t say it’s failed advertising (in this specific case).  I think that the default, grammatical paradigm is that it would be a) two words and b) plural.

I could go on, but I’ll leave it for another day, another thread. 😊

Wasn’t me that bought the domain 😉 I know what you mean though.
