foreign characters in commenter names

    Hi,

    The non English characters(foreign) are entered in the “name” filed on the comment form and submitted. It does not seems these characters are part of UTF-8

    Any ideas about how to convert these characters in to correct UTF -8.

    It looks like they are using “gb2312” Chinese encoding. You’d have to find a way to translate that to utf-8. Looks very much like spam to me, so I am not sure I’d bother, but there you have it.
