Best Default Text Formatting for The Custom Field

Hi,

We have bloggers those copy the text with High-ASCII values for quotes and other characters in to custom fields like Body & extended Text.

So the custom field Default Text formating available thru EE are
1. xhtml
2. None
3. Auto

Would xhtml format store the special characters in to DB as correct or weired characters?

Does XHTML/None format works better with special characters not from the key board.

It makes no difference. The formatting settings only affect whether <p> ... </p> and/or <br /> are used in the rendered template, or not. The actual data in the db is the same in all cases.
