Essentially I’m trying to get a list of the latest 6 articles, but the Author cannot be repated. What is the recommended way to achieve this?

For example

Brad: I like chicken
Garry: How about them Tigers
Frank: Here is my first article
Brad: I like tomato soup
Sandy: Hello
Sandy: I play netball
Carly: Obama rocks
Steven: Is the royal family still relevant?

Would provide

Brad: I like chicken
Garry: How about them Tigers
Frank: Here is my first article
Sandy: Hello
Carly: Obama rocks
Steven: Is the royal family still relevant?

The only way I can so doing this is to use the Query Module and write a custom query.
