    Hi,

I am opening a new business and thus need a website. While I use Rapidweaver now (personally) , it is not going to meet my professional requirements.

The website will have two focus: online shop & online courses (education).

    - I will start selling around 50 different products for the first year and up to 150 within 5 years, each of them having their product information sheet (database). I will need a very good e-commerce solution to support languages, promotion, etc….I was planning on using Xsilva software for the physical shop and I am also querying is their webstore can be integrated easily with EE or else…

    - I will be teaching students in the classroom, but most courses will be available on the internet (more self teaching courses in fact). This is where the CMS comes into play. I don’t expect much interaction there but on the forum…

    - My website will need to be in two languages (already supported as far as I can see)

Now, will EE be enough and support this project?

I would really appreciate your input.

I’m not familiar with xsilva. I did a quick search on their website and integration seems like it should be possible since its based on PHP/MYSQL like EE is. However, the best thing to do would be to contact xsilva and ask what tools they have available to integrate to their store with other web applications like ExpressionEngine. Once you or xsilva lets us know what is available on their end we can give a better answer.

In terms of EE, its certainly possible to integrate it with other applications. The effort required to do what will depend a lot on the type of integration needed and the tools available.

Sounds like this should be possible but I’m not sure what type of interaction you’re referring too. Do you just mean that you need a forum?

    Yes.

It sounds like EE would likely make a good foundation but it would be helpful to know more details on the project. Either way, the best thing to do is to try EE before you buy it.

    I meant the forum indeed.

I have pm you for that one.

    Also,
I have installed the free version and started playing with it to undersatnd how it works. So far so good….But I will probably require more help at a later stage.

    Thank you.
