Thanks for the update! I am really excited to hear nothing but good news on 2.0! Need to pull out the Roadshow early dev preview info and apply soon!
Again, thanks for the update!

Kickass! I wish i could get to SXSW. Too much client work to get done. We’re busy using up that 15 pack of EE licenses we bought a month ago lol

This is very cool. I won’t be as SXSW (I’ll be in Japan instead), but I can’t wait to read people’s reports and opinions on the event.

Thats great news, good luke with your development work getting it out the door.
Any news if their will be pictures, posts or video from EllisLabs at or after the event?
And when any pricing or schedules will be announced?

So, that means that EE 2.0 goes alpha no later than mid-March 2009. Could a ‘beta’ of EE 2.0 be far behind? Summer 2009?

who will the developer release be made available to then?

Hope ya all have a good time meeting EE2.0! And hopefully we get something exiting news soon after that…or even something to work with!

hey, as you all know i really appreciate the excellent work of ellislab - and i explicitly appreciate that they don’t throw out something that’s not finished but prefer to take the time it needs.
but i remember the SXSW 2008 - a preview into the filemanager! have a drink on 2.0! we all thought, wow, it’s getting nearer. perhaps we all should slow down a bit in our enthusiasm. i myself planned to relaunch my site with 2.0 in late 2008, when there have been announced possible release-dates. inbetween i am almost sure that i will not be able to do this earlier than spring 2010. this makes me sad.
anyway: good luck and a lot of fun at the SXSW 2009!

Sadly, I’ll be on my honeymoon instead of at SXSW this year. Wait, that’s not sad, that’s flipping awesome.
But I’m still excited about seeing some new EE info from the interwebs when I get back.

The Developer Preview is specifically geared toward ExpressionEngine Add-on developers. Its essentially somewhere between an alpha and a beta where the code structure is stable enough that EE add-on developers can begin converting their code to 2.0.
When its available we’ll have full details on the application process, who its aimed toward, and what to expect.
