    Hello All,

I was just curious to vendors you folks here in the forum use to buy your SSL Certs? There are so many different places to purchase. I figured I would see what you folks have experienced over the years.

    Thanks in advance.

RapidSSL certificates are great if you just need an AFFORDABLE small-business level cert. GeoTrust certificates are great for the next level up, where they verify physical address and stuff of the business. The RapidSSL site at rapidssl.com sells both.

Full disclosure: I have a reseller account at rapidssl.com, so obviously I like them. 😊

All I can share is stay away from Godaddy (used for webmail access)...SSL cert is not something you want to save $ on.

I second that. Godaddy’s certs are a nightmare—they’re chained rather than root-level, which means they don’t install properly.

If you want to save money, use RapidSSL certs, which are root-level. Otherwise use GeoTrust certificates, bought through any number of places (some hosts even sell them. )

What about Trustwave? Has anyone used them before?

Nope, ‘fraid not. I haven’t even heard much about them, though I am aware of their existence.
