O.K.  It appears that the sites are a sequense of numbers of the sort abc6920001, abc6920002 etc.

I got back D:\Webs\abc6920002 for the original   The new one is D:\Webs\abc6920001

the path is now set at $system_path = “D:\Webs\abc6920002\Blog\systemforum” in a directory on the new domain. There is NO http in it at all

These are not the actual numbers as I don’t really want to publish them on a public forum…. but they are the right form.

I’m not following what you mean by:

after I created thte new site in control panel…. when I go to it in control panel… I get the original site not the new one.

Can you please be more specific?  How are you on the original site, not the new one?

    Ya got me….

I created a new site in control panel.  If I go to administer sites it lists the original and the new.  If I click on the new one…. the info for the old one comes up.  I looked at the original site… and NOTHING seems to have bene added to the system directory…. I assume it would have duplicated something and put it in a new directory ( new site?) .  It seems to be creating a new site in name only.  I deleted it and created it 4 times it now has a site id of 5…. the previous ones were deleted.  maybe that is why the path ( see above)  will not oopen an index page.

What info in particular comes up? The Control Panel will look the same.

Nothing will be added. For the second new domain, adding the path.php and index.php is sufficent.

This is correct. When you create a new site in the control panel it is adding it to the database, not creating a directory for it. You also have the option of moving or duplicating content from your original site.

The path.php file you added to the new domain’s directory when setting up a new site is more or less a way finder.

Make sure in your new site’s shortname you used when adding a new site through your CP is the same as $site_name = ‘Site_Short_Name’; in your new path.php

This is frusratating.  I did duplicate stuff… Don;t see it.  When I click on the new site in the control panel… the breadcrumb trail says I am in the old site.  Let’s make this simple.  Tell me what I should now see that was not there before in the directory structure of the old site.  I assume it at least gave me a new index page????

FTamalenus, you should see no physical files or directories, the changes are all in the database.
