    Hi there,

I’m in the process of moving my hosting and thought I’d take the opportunity to upgrade from EE 1.6.3 to 1.6.7. I also thought I’d move from Mark Huot’s excellent Tome module to EE’s own pages module. However, I’d like some advice on how to do so please.

My website (which is currently running Tome on 1.6.3) is at http://www.oneofus.co.uk. It’s set up with a weblog for the homepage (which will migrate fine) and several sections - news, writing tips, how to and articles (the forums use Invision Board and I’ll sort those out later) which use Tome.

I used Tome to get a static hierarchy of pages and liked how I could build the navigation and breadcrumb trail. However, with EE 2.0 coming sometime soon I thought I’d stick with its inbuilt pages module.

It’s been a couple of years since I first built the site so I’m a bit rusty in EE right now. I think I’ll be fine with just some guidance on how to effectively use categories, weblogs, templates and the pages module to recreate what I had in Tome. I’m happy to do a fair bit of reworking of the site if it needs it. I would however like to keep the url structure intact.

Some more info on how I originally set up the site is at http://www.oneofus.co.uk/index.php/behindthescenes/

    Thanks in advance!

With the exception of your breadcrumb trail, it should be a fairly painless process.

I would consider setting up an installation of your site using a new database so you can make changes and test without damaging your existing site.
