Gallery Batch: "You must select a file to upload" after upgrade to 1.6.7

As the title says, my Gallery Batch adding has stopped working after I upgraded to 1.6.7 yesterday. It worked fine before that. But now if I try to use Batch to process an image in my batch folder (which I ftp-ed up), I get this error:

“You must select a file to upload”

Obviously, I’m not uploading a file lol, the file is already on the server! I checked my paths and everything in Gallery Preferences, and it’s all exactly as I had it before, entirely correct.

    Any ideas?

Okay, just to follow up on this.

I have tried creating a brand new gallery, just in case the problem was with my existing gallery, and it gave me the same error.

I also tried re-uploading the gallery module and all /core/ files, in case something got corrupted somewhere. Still no dice, still the same error message.

Is there anything else I can try to troubleshoot this? Anyone? 😊

Edited to add, I am on 2.6.7, Build 200902011.

    Hi, Sasha.

What are the paths for your upload folder?

    For the batch folder?

    Batch Processing Folder: _batch
Server Path to Batch Folder: /home/USERNAME/photos/_batch/
Full URL to Batch Directory: http://adrianalimafan.net/photos/_batch/

These are the same settings that it’s been set to since 2006 - it’s only since my recent upgrade that it stopped working.

Can you make sure error reporting is enabled on this server, Sasha?  (both Output and Debugging preferences and the PHP environment itself Admin > Utilities > PHP Info > display_errors).  I would bet that an error is occurring but they are being hidden from you.  The two threads below should explain things, but you’ll want to get error reporting enabled, as PHP errors are invaluable for explaining unexpected and non-working behavior.

Right - good idea, Derek! I have turned both on, and now see the following errors at the top of the page when I go to Gallery > Batch Entries:

Notice: Undefined variable: source_image in /home/****/adrianalimafan.net/_backend/core/core.image_lib.php on line 1515

Notice: Undefined variable: source_image in /home/****/adrianalimafan.net/_backend/core/core.image_lib.php on line 1516

This is before I even click submit to try and batch one! Once I click the submit button, EE still reports I need to choose a file to upload, and PHP reports the following error:

Notice: Undefined index: userfile in /home/****/adrianalimafan.net/_backend/modules/gallery/mcp.gallery.php on line 1742

This is the same error others reported as you indicated in the links, Derek, so I downloaded a fresh copy of 1.6.7, replaced /core/core.image_lib.php and I’m happy to report it’s working fine again now! Thank you so much!

Excellent, Sasha, and sorry for the problem in the original file download!
