    I see a couple of posts with similar problems:

    Not resolved (with a reason or solution):
    similar problem in forum - broken path [unresolved]

    Resolved - (DNS issue):
    similar problem in forum - broken path [dns issue]

    I don’t think it’s a dns issue though. Why would the sub page work? If it were?

    yes. the proof is that the files are there in the folder and also, they show up on the second page (sub pages).

    what’s the code on the main page look like?  Do you have hard coded urls in a part of your entry?

    Also look at:  CP Home ›  Admin ›  Weblog Administration ›  Weblog Management ›  Edit Weblog Preferences -> Path Settings for each weblog.

    Can you double check that you have changed not only the ‘Server Path to Upload Directory’ but also ‘URL of Upload Directory’

    Also lets try reducing your template and see what we can generate

    Start by making a blank template and adding the following and report back with results

    {exp:weblog:entries weblog="default_site" limit="15"}
          {slideshow_image}<br>
    {/exp:weblog:entries}

    A) All the addresses, paths are correct.

    B) The images load just fine into the correct directory.

    C) The images load just fine on sub pages.

    D) The links show the correct address in the new template. Only on the home page are the links pointing to the previous site.

    grin-n-bear; I realize this is the front-page of your site, but would it be possible to put that very simple weblog entries tag on the index temporarily to a) make sure you see the change and b) see if it helps get the correct path?

    I’m not certain I understand exactly which weblog entry you are referring
    to. The one coming from the sub page which is working?

    Do you need the site to be public again? I did follow John Donovan’s request yesterday. All the paths showed up correctly. I responded to his request (on page 2).

    In one of your emails you mentioned that when you output a weblog entries tag with {slideshow_image} in it, on your homepage it points to your old site rather than the new one.  Is that correct?

    I think you are referring to John Donovan’s request. I did what he asked…The result was a list of image paths that were pointing to the CORRECT address, not the old one. Which—-is weird.

    The images that are broken (on the home page only) are because they are 1) Uploaded images to the new site and not on the other site 2) the path points to the other site (if you check properties on the images at the bottom that are working, you’ll see they do not point to this current site—-same applies for the uploaded file link that I have on the home page (it’s correct on the sub page, but not home 3) Images and files are in their correct directory which means the uploading is working fine. I can also see them with their correct path in the sub pages (or just typing the URL to them).

    Yes, but you did that on a separate template, is that correct?  I’d like to make sure it works on your homepage as well.

    I’d also like just to make sure that an edit to the homepage does work.

    Also, please FTP to /system/cache/ and delete everything inside of it, then reset it to 777 permissions.  Let’s make sure it’s not as simple as that.

    Yes…separate template.

    So two questions: 1) Clear folders in the cache, too. Askin’ just to be safe. and, 2) put the same code that John Donovan gave me in the main index template…yes?

    First clear the cache - if that fixes it, well, we’re done. =)

    And yes, 2 - but it in the main index template.  Not in index.php - you should never touch index.php except during updates as specified.
