    OMG! It worked.
    Thank you! again and again!

I’ve seen other problems in the forum that seem similar. I wonder if this was the issue? The issue being—-clearing the system/cache files inside the folders. If one is going to “copy site” or “replicate site”, they need to clear these cache files by FTP as you suggested.

3+ days of tweaking and twerking and that’s what it was! There needs to be a comprehensive (Easy to understand) list of all that needs to be done to do a site or replicate copy of a site. (Better yet, an auto replicate button) :cheese:

I’ve found many references and bits, but none, as of yet, really detail it out in simple 1,2,3 bullets.  I’ll need to pass that along to the best reference that I’ve seen on this: http://ee-developer.com/home/articles/how-to-copy-a-working-expression-engine-installation/

For some reason we often see the cache get “stuck” on server moves.  When I move servers, I don’t move that folder, I create it new on the server and set the permissions to 777.

You’ll note the instructions here which include a step for double checking permissions.  It is likely permissions on this folder simply need to be reset in order to get it all to work.  Clearing them just forces it immediately.

I’m glad you got this all up and running.  Ready to close this one out then, and move on with your project? =)

    yes, indeed!!

[In answer to the ending note on this closed topic for anyone reading about site copy or site replication (replicate a site)/(copy a site)]

Clearing the “Clear Cache Data” from the control panel doesn’t always work after doing a site copy. It can get stuck even with the settings at 777 (which they were). In this case, the confusion was eliminated when the EE TSS said to FTP to the system/cache and clear out the files contained within the folders. There were a number of items in a couple of folders. Once they got cleared out—-presto, the paths were correct.

Awesome!  Just as a note, this was recommended twice prior, in this response and this response so it could have been solved days earlier.  I’m glad we did finally get you up and running, if you ever see a suggestion from us that you’re not 100% sure about, please feel free to ask!

Thank you grin-n-bear, and do post back if anything else comes up. =)
