    Hi,

I have installed the gallery module and am trying to upload images. I get the error ‘Your server does not support the GD function required to process this type of image.
JPG images are not supported’. I searched around a bit and noticed some others on here have experienced the same problem, so i went back to the beginning and ran the requirements check script. A php info check shows GD is installed, the requirements script shows

GIF Image Resizing Using GD (or GD 2) optional Yes
JPEG Image Resizing Using GD (or GD 2) optional No
PNG Image Resizing Using GD (or GD 2) optional Yes

So my problem is jpeg image resizing is not enabled, my question, how do i enable jpeg image resizing using gd.

    php info reads

    GD Support enabled
    GD Version bundled (2.0.28 compatible)
    GIF Read Support enabled
    GIF Create Support enabled
    PNG Support enabled
    WBMP Support enabled
    XBM Support enabled

Greetings DanielQ, and welcome to the forums!

You would need to speak to your host about supporting imagejpeg() in GD.  They would likely have to recompile PHP however it’s not a bad idea to ask!

    Hey Greg,

Thanks for the welcome! I have some control over my hosting environment (dedicated), i have no idea what i need to do to add support for imagejpeg() in gd however, googling throws up mixed results but no methods on how to do it… any references?

Environments I have control of are either CentOS or Fedora, and I do a yum install php-gd and yum install ImageMagick.

DanielQ, information on how to install GD is beyond the scope of EE technical support. I’m going to move this to General for additional community assistance.
