    Hello,

I am looking for a place to host video files. Not the YouTube and other places that watermark there name on the video, looking for a respectable and inexpensive place to host videos. Figured I would ask the members here to see what your guys use or recommend.

    Thanks in advance.

Amazon S3 might be an option. There are tools available for easy upload and you pay for what you need in regards to storage and traffic.

Depending on your needs, there’s also the free FilePanda, which happens to be powered by CodeIgniter, created by a member of that community, Elliot Haughin.  It’s not so much video hosting as it is file storage, for download.

Have you checked out Vimeo’s plus service?
The only catch here is that you have to own the rights to the videos you host there, so name clips from movies/tv shows etc… are allowed.

We’ve been working on a website videos are the main content.  I’ve been wanting to use Vimeo , but the lack of a desktop-based uploader turns me off.  It just won’t fit into the client’s workflow.

We’ve ended up using Bits on the Run.  It has the added benefit of encoding all the videos into various sizes and Flash-player friendly formats.  It’s run by Jeroen Wijering—queen of Flash-based media players—so I trust the service.

Bits on the Run looks cool, but I wish it was located in the USA.

The other “catch” with Vimeo is that it MUST be “noncommercial.” Their definition includes anything that can be used to promote any business. They also pull any video that looks like it was “professionally produced.”

If you really want private label video that can be used for business, embedded, and customized, I suggest that you check out Fliqz (http://www.fliqz.com). Their pricing is considerably higher than Vimeo, but (in my opinion) very worth it if you are doing a business project. Their support is also outstanding.
