Hi all.
We are about to commission two websites built using ExpressionEngine. One’s a village community site, the other is an archive site (for the same village). The village site will be your normal news, diary, community info etc. The archive site will be a simply structured collection of photos, scanned images, written documents, audio clips etc etc. The plan is to use the MSM to keep management and membership as simple as possible. Also, we would like to share one EE forum between both sites, which I understand is perfectly feasible.
First question:
Our present (phpBB) forum currently contains many sections, including a popular History & Genealogy section. Once we have imported it into EE, would it be possible to have just the History & Genealogy section display on the archive site (with a link to the full forum on the village site)?
Second question:
Is it possible to have an admin only section on the full forum, visible to admins but not ordinary users? Think I might have read that Ellis Lab have one and the same on this forum, but I might have imagined it…
Many thanks for your help. If Mark Bowen is the first to answer this post I promise to buy him a helicopter, although, given the economic downturn, it may have to be this one 😉
