Is there anywhere with a complete list of known modules, extensions & plugins for ExpressionEngine?

The add-on library is pretty good for plugins and extensions, but for modules has only first party modules other than the solspace tag module.

The EE wiki is incomplete and searching through the forums for the word “module”, “plugin”, or “extension” is just going to give too many results for people asking for help rather than links to actual donwloads.

Basically what I’m looking for is a centralized location of all known add-ons for EE (free and paid) that is searchable by date, cost, function, author, status (beta, works only up to EE 1.x.x), tags etcetera.

If this is not currently availabe, then it might be a good idea to put something together that allows users to submit a listing, whether created by them or not, give the listing tags and ratings, and comments on features usability of the add-on.

No, there’s no singular resource that I’m aware of, and the EE site’s own list is incomplete and not as easy to search as it ought to be.  Sigh.

The List of Add-on Sites wiki article keeps a decent list. Our list is incomplete for two reasons. Sometimes people simply don’t tell us or submit their add-on for review. Sometimes an add-on does not pass review. Though, in fairness add-on submissions are currently closed.

I think you’ll probably see something like that emerge at some point on someones site somewhere or another. It’s not an easy thing to do though as I don’t think it would be right for EllisLab to both have to watch for every single item that gets made or just add them to a list willy-nilly. The author of a plugin, extension or module whilst they might place it in the forums in a thread might not want it added to a list as they might start getting WAY too many support questions thrown at them.

I think something will probably pop up though on someones site.

...to really find plugins and extensions, you have to hunt through the forums, the add-on library, and numerous developer sites. Well, we LIKE doing that, so we’ll do it for you - and tag it all! And cross-reference! And review! And test! And show you how-to! And… and…

I tend to use del.icio.us more and more to find an EE plugin and it works pretty well. It might be an idea for us members to start tagging plugins you run into. Wether they’re on EE.com or any other site.

Tend to use both EE and ExpressionEngine for anything related and then addon for all addons and module, extension or plugin, depending on what it is

The extensions, plugins, modules, etc., only work on iTunes (Mac or PC), iPod, iPod touch, and iPhone. But you can upgrade to a non-DRM version at extra cost.

I don’t know what the confusion is - maybe I haven’t been clear enough about devot:ee from the start. So let’s clear it up.

Devot://ee WILL BE the first and only place you need to look for any and all EE add-ons. Period.

That’s the goal. That’s the driving force. An add-on repository is one of the main reasons I’m putting devot:ee together. I’ve been collecting, categorizing, tweaking and obsessing over EE add-ons for years.

EE Insider has news, some tutorials, tidbits about EE stuff. Jambor-ee has articles. Train-EE features Boyink’s EE training. Devot:ee also has articles, but is definitely targeted for EE developers and anyone and everyone who likes EE add-ons.

Devot:ee’s add-on library blows away the Wiki.

Devot:ee’s add-on library blows away any other site offering a list or collection of add-ons out there now.

And I will be launching that area of the site as soon as I humanly can. The goal was for February 2009, until my daughter Kate was born on the 7th. So now the goal is March.

Ha, I don’t. I’m willing to bet I know more add-ons than he does, if I do say so myself.

At any rate, everyone will get a chance to let devot:ee know what’s missing through the use of SAEFs. I have some people using the dev site right now, and I can say one thing: it works.

If the add-ons are from this site or anyone who has ever posted on this site then I pretty much do know them all as (sad as I am) I have read every single post in this forum even posts that were before the time I joined. Admitted you probably know some that people have never mentioned on the forums though I guess?
