...??? Who should reupload files…? Me or EE?

We tend to wait for a convenient and low-traffic time to run the update on our site, though we will typically have updated files in place long before a public release, particularly for security issues and/or bug fixes that impact our guests.

Looks like your config.php might not have been writable? But since there are no updates to the db structure this time you can simply modify the value in config.php yourself. Makes sense? Otherwise, please start a new thread in Tech Support.

Did you run the update script after uploading the files?

I have the 1.6.6 version commercial expired! so if I pay the $39 for renew, I can download the 1.6.7 etc… but when 2.0 see the light I can download too?? if response is NO that! is so bad because I need pay again $249!!! more; for that reason I pay the renew of $39, if I need pay $39 for a update and later other $249 is not good! the logical thing here is pay $39 every year like prices say on the EE site, for have access to Download the version that are available at that moment! is not fair pay again $249 again.

“maybe this is for the sales department but, I want know the comments of users about this, thanks”

Your download account renewal gives you access to continued downloads for whatever version you own.  It is not the same thing as an upgrade, but your download account renewal will continue to apply to any upgrades you might make.  In other words, you aren’t losing any money nor time by renewing now, and you won’t save by waiting to do it later.  And as we haven’t made any statements on what the price will be for purchase nor for upgrade, it’s a broad leap to suggest that we’re going to make you pay $250 to upgrade.

so let me know if I understand in a few words, If I pay now $39 for renew I can download the 1.6.7 but when version 2.0 see the light I need pay $249 again??? so total $288 more $249 of the 1st buy, big total: $537! for a year and 2 months of buy the EE, if yes is not fair!!! because for nothing I pay a renew to year, because if a new version coming I need pay again, dont make sense pay the renew! and if can download the version 2 for I cant pay again! $249 my product at the time that new version see the light are be old and discontinued so for say of some way for nothing I pay a renew; please explain good beacuse I dont have on mind pay again $249, I read this on the site when I buy and dont explain that:

Do I have to buy a new license every year?

When you purchase either a Personal or Commercial License you own it forever. You can use the license as long as you want. Each license purchase includes one free year of access to that license’s Download Account where you can download the latest version of ExpressionEngine you own. After one year, if you want to continue accessing the Download Area you can purchase a yearly renewal for $19.95 (Personal license) or $39.95 (commercial license).

Iam good on pay every year $39 for renew but not buy again the product everytime that a new version coming!

    thanks

    Hi Bmovie,

The upgrade fee from 1.x to 2.0 is not $249 or the cost of a new license. It will be a modest fee based on the version originally purchased. Whatever time is left on your Download Account will automatically be transferred to your 2.0 license.

So if you had 6 months left on your Download Account, that gets transferred to 2.x updates at no additional cost.

Bmovie, to avoid rehashing it here, let me point to a previous discussion, and the sneak preview faq which should address your concerns.

thanks Leslie! but please specific with my case, simple:

    1. I have the 1.6.6 version
    2. My time on download area is gone
    3. If I pay the $39 for renew obvious I can download the version 1.6.7 BUT when 2.0 see the light I need pay something? yes or not?

    thanks

If you choose to upgrade to 2.0, then yes, you will pay an upgrade fee that takes your original purchase of 1.x into consideration.  You will not have to repurchase your renewal - it will continue its remaining time for your upgraded license.  Or you can choose to not upgrade to 2.0 and continue to use 1.x and pay the annual renewal to access any updates that may be released for that version.

sorry for replay a lot but Iam confused!

my point is this: I want! the 2.0 when release but I dont want pay again $250
my status is: my renew are expired, when 2.0 are ready for download I can pay my $39 of renew and I can download 2.0? or I need pay now the renew for download 2.0 when they be released?

    thanks Derek

No, your renewal and your license are two different things.  The renewal allows you to download updates to the version that you own.  You will not pay $249 to upgrade, as Les stated above, but there will be small upgrade fee, and it is separate from download account renewals.
