    Hi,

is there a way (probably using a 3rd-party-module) to embed galleries into posts like let’s say there’s a news post about a basketball game containing 20 pictures. Only 3 pictures should be shown as thumbnails and on click the user get’s linked to a article gallery showing the pictures that belong to that article.

Is that something that can be done with EE and the gallery module or is there any 3rd party module doing this?

There are a couple of ways to do this.

If each entry will have its own unique gallery—i.e., the photos for one entry won’t be “shared” with other entries—then I’d recommend [removed]. I’m using it for a site right now, and it’s very.

However, if you need to be able to share photos between entries, then you can accomplish that without using any third party add-ons.

    1) Create a new custom field for your “entries” weblog called something like “Gallery Category”.
    2) When you post a new batch of photos to be shared, add those photos to a new category in your photo gallery. Enter the ID of that category in the aforementioned “Gallery Category” field.

When you display a particular entry, you can plug the value in the “Gallery Category” into the “category” parameter of the “exp:gallery:entries” tag.

You can find some more info about the second approach here.

thanks for your suggestions. The “Entry Gallery module” is exactly what i was looking for i guess. I have to test this out. Thanks.
