Dunno but if some corporation uses old browsers for its workers to allow surfing, does that make costs to security part also? I’m not so familiar with IE6 but as far as i can think, its full of “this and that-holes” so you need to fix “this and that” to make it safe?

Yes, that is true, but a lot of the vulnerabilities are more platform dependent anyway… for instance running IE5 on a Mac doesn’t really put me at much of a risk…

Generally speaking though corporations have pretty thorough firewalls and such already in place so much of the work is left to the firewall rather than the browser in terms of security.

Anycase, IE6 is going down someday and we can start the mission to boost the deadline for it =), dont we?

Indeed a good idea, it’s just a matter of how forceful you want to be with the deadline 😉

Only if you discount the very real risk of going mad, of course…

That may be as well, but Corporate IT or not, there really is no excuse any more for running IE 6 these days. And by that I don’t mean the people who are forced to use it (I know there are some), but rather the suits responsible for it.

    Haha, too true.

Agreed, but some people just don’t get it 😉

    Any takers for this idea?

If a client wants IE6 support, I wouldn’t mind outsourcing the work.  Any one feel like starting an IE6 only shop? lol
