Kind of a feature request this one but just for the next week or so 😉

Unfortunately my MacBook Pro has to go in for repairs on Friday and so I’m not going to have access for 5-7 days so will probably have millions of tweets, e-mails and threads to catch up on.

That’s why I’d love a newspaper so I can still catch up on everything that’s going on. I’ll bet I miss something really big whilst I’m without my beloved silver box!!

So anyway if I go a bit quiet as from Friday night then that is why. You’re probably all thinking “Thank goodness for that” though as you probably get sick of seeing me in here anyway! 😊

Anyway please please please don’t do anything major whilst I am without access, I beg of you! 😉

    Best wishes,

    Mark

To tell the truth I don’t know how I’m going to cope!!

I’ve had a Mac by my side every day since around 1988 I think it was and don’t know what I will do without it!!

    Hope they look after her!
Okay that last bit’s a bit sad and pathetic isn’t it!!? 😉

Go get yourself a Pay as you go iPhone - you can then keep up with all your on-line life.

How much do they cost? I was thinking of getting an iPhone but the problem is that my number is currently on Orange and I don’t want to lose my number moving across to O2.

From £342 at Carphone Warehouse or O2.

And you can keep your number - on the O2 iPhone page click the “New to O2” tab - “To keep your existing number, just contact your current network provider for a PAC code.”

Hmmm might look into that thanks Simon.

I have to say though that I have a fantastic contract at the moment with Orange though. In fact the contract doesn’t even exist for people to get. My Wife got it for me ages ago as she is excellent at bargaining with companies and got a fantastic deal.

May look into an iPhone at some point though. I wonder if they will start using the new SDX cards that I’ve heard rumours about. Apparently they will be able to hold 2TB of data!!! 😊

    Best wishes,

    Mark

I don’t have an iPhone myself yet - was waiting for the 3G to come out, then was hoping I might get one for Christmas - now I have to get it myself! Wait 6 weeks after I get one and that will be when Appledecide to spring a surprise upgrade launch! - has happened to me several times now - each time I get a new Mac. Last time 8 weeks after I got my G5iMac they brought out the pentium versions!

Try doing what my Wife does in these kinds of circumstances. Whenever she is purchasing something quite large she will always ask if she can get a guarantee that nothing better will come out in the next month or so. If it does she 99.99999999999999% of the time will get the upgrade for free!!

She’s very good at that kind of thing 😉

If I did that something new would come out the week after the month was up. Plus once I bought something I stop looking and bury myself - my Dad always keeps looking after he has bought something to see if he could have go tit cheaper. My other half is really good at negotiation so best leave it to the girls!

Don’t forget that the iPhone has been unlocked now, so you can use it on any GSM provider now.

Has it? Are you sure about that?

Is there any information about that on the net anywhere. I hadn’t heard of that.
