    We have an urgent problem which needs to be resolved.
    An expressionengine powered website we made was transfered to another domainname. To make the changes in all the links, we made a database export and search and replaced all the occurences of the old url with the new url. After that we imported the changed database

    When we now try to load the website, we get a white screen and can’t login in the backoffice. We assume it has something todo with the lines in exp_sites which go like s:26:“http://www.zoekadvocaat.be”;

    Are we doing this the right way, or did we do something wrong?

    Hi Orezz,

    Was the website only moving to another domain, or was it also moved to another server.
    Please follow the steps in this Knowledge Base entry

    I am afraid you must not do that. EE stores some values in a so-called serial array, and blindly searching & replacing in such arrays will damage you database.

    Yes, exactly. Please restore your database from a backup. You should follow the steps outlined in this KB article. If you want to search and replace values across your db, please use the built-in utility.

    Also, what version and build of EE are you on?
