Version: 4.0.5 Reporter: James Catt —
Tried running the upgrade from 3.5.14 -> 4.0.5. The updater appears to run successfully, but when it completes and redirects to the control panel, the whole site just starts returning 500 errors across the board.
I’ve tried setting file permissions to 777 on everything and disabling SELinux. I also tried manually removing the installer directories from /system (it didn’t do this automatically).
Apache isn’t recording anything in the error log, and when I turn on display_errors in php.ini, I just get the white screen of death. I’m at a bit of a loss for what to try next.
For reference, I’m running a multi-site config (2 sites), and I’ve renamed my admin.php file (which is configured properly and works as expected up until the upgrade process finishes).
