Bug #22800 Bug Fixed

Text fields with the type of Number are not carrying zeros over correctly.

Version: 3.4.4 Reporter: jdboothman

I set a text field to type Number - the database says there are zeros in all those fields, but in EE the field is blank, and on the front end it comes through at NaN.

If a user enters a zero into the field and saves, it works the same way. Even though the database says there is a zero, the next time they view the entry it is blank and the front end gives NaN.

  • Interestingly, a straight up text field (with type set to All) seems to hold the zero just fine - but I’d like to be able to set the number requirement.

  • Thanks! Good point, we’ll get it fixed. Though we’ll need to save this fix for 4.0. Since a number field is zero by default, there may be sites out there that are relying on it still being an empty string, so we’ll need to introduce the change in a release where those kinds of changes are more expected.
