I have a setup with two channels:
* blog
* static_pages
If I publish a Page to the “static_pages” blog, but select a template that will retrieve information from the “blog” channel, this will not work.
category_archive tag for instance, will work. So this code: {exp:channel:category_archive channel="blog" style="linear"}
will produce expected results if used on a static page. However the channel:entries tag will retrieve nothing, this code for instance does not work:
{exp:channel:entries channel="blog" orderby="date" disable="pagination" sort="desc"}
