Version: EE 2.0.0PB 20091211 Reporter: richhayler —
This is an archived bug report. If you are experiencing a similar issue, upgrade to the latest release and if that does not solve the problem, submit a new bug report
If you visit the Synchronize templates page and view the wording at the top of this page it states:
“Selected templates will be updated to match the current associated file.
If a file does not yet exist for a flagged template, it will be created based on the template data.”
So to me the first part of that paragraph says that the selected templates stored as a file will be updated to the database.
However, if you select the template then click “submit” the text displayed within the “yellow alert bar” states:
“templates in the database have been synced to files”
Shouldn’t that read “your templates files have been synced (updated) to the database”
I am also not sure that synchronized is technically the correct term as it would imply that if the database template version was newer this would be updated to the template file on the web server and within EE’s control panel the update is only one way, i.e. template file to database. “Synchronization is the process of establishing consistency among data from a source to a target data storage and vice versa.
