    Hi-

I’ve been attempting to send an email communication to site members via the Communicate tab. The first mailing list I created had 300 email addresses. After a few seconds the function timed out and I received a “500 Internal Server Error” page. I cut the mailing list down to 100 email addresses and tried again, using a different internet connection. Same result.

After logging back in and checking the “Previously Sent Email,” it shows the communication, but site members aren’t receiving it.

Any ideas? Is 100 emails per mailing list too many? We have over 3,000 members and would like some way to communicate with them on occasion, if at all possible, without emailing them one at a time.

    Thank you for your time!

It will all depend on your server and your setup. A 500 “Internal Server Error” is always the server’s fault. It’s either been misconfigured, running out of resources or been instructed not to let you have the page you requested.

The obvious thing to do would be to take a look at the server error log, which usually contains a little more information about what triggered the error.

Also, what version and build of EE are you using?
