Hi,

I’m seeing a consistant 3 hour time difference between entry and expiration times.

Also, for the expiration date or any custom date fields, the time format is displayed with three numbers instead of four like the entry date. e.g. 2:30 instead of 02:30.

And finally, here’s the weird part, when I went to post an entry at 2008-12-14 09:21 PM EST this evening, selecting an expiration date inserted a non valid time of 2008-12-18 0:21 AM

Following what the related thread mentioned, I went to My Account and checked “Use this member’s localization settings as the master site default?” and confirmed it’s Localization Settings time zone was set correctly. But there’s still a 3 hour difference.

Any ideas?

What version and build are you running?  Both values can be found in the footer of your control panel.  Also, are you running any extensions?

I’m on the 1.6.6 20081212 build and I am running the following extentions:

Solspace Tag Submit (v.2.0.7)
.(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)  (v.1.0.9)
Empty Options  (v.1.0.0) 
Entry expiration notification  (v.1.0)

sapid, if you temporarily disable all your extensions, does the problem still happen?

Where are you seeing this issue?  On the publish/edit screen or in your templates?

Could you please create a simple template similar to this:

{exp:weblog:entries weblog="my_weblog" dynamic="off"}


Entry: {entry_date format="%F %d, %Y - %g:%i:%s"}

Expiration: {expiration_date format="%F %d, %Y - %g:%i:%s"}


{/exp:weblog:entries}

Also, if this is happening in the control panel, please attach a screenshot of the relevant section.

I’m seeing the issue in the publish screen of the control panel. See attached screenhot. Note: I adjusted my localization time ahead to be in the 9 o’clock hour.

I’m sorry, but I am a little confused as to what the problem with the control panel “date” tab is.  If you put valid times in there, do you see the offset?  Also, with the page you posted, are the times wrong, and if so what should they be?

When I publish an entry and I select an expiration date or any custom date using the built in calendar in the CP, it inserts that date along with a time. I am not manually putting these times in.

It’s my understanding that the time included with my date selection should reflect the same time that is in the field for the publish date. Mine is currently 3 hours ahead. Also, the time is not in the same format 00:00, like it is in the publish date, instead it follows this format 0:00.

I want to understand why the these times are 3 hrs apart.
