    Hello,

I use the MSM to run several related forums and a blog. I’m trying to set up the multiple domain login feature so logging in at any of the sites will log you into all of them, however I’ve run into a bit of a problem where it is not redirecting me to the original page where I logged in.

For example if I login through domain1.com/forum it will send me to domain1.com which is problematic because it can be confusing to users.

How do I configure the multiple site login to return the user to the original page they were logging in from?

    Thanks,
    Jacob

Do you have your url’s correctly set for each domain in Admin ›  System Preferences ›  General Configuration

Also, what version/build of both ExpressionEngine and the MSM are you running?

    Hi Greg.

You are talking about the “URL to the root directory of your site,” correct? If so they are set correctly. I guess my issue is that it always redirects you to those root URLs.

For example if I login through:
domain1.com/article/article2 it will log me into all the sites but send me to domain1.com/
domain1.com/forum/viewthread/20 will log you in and send yu back to domain1.com/
domain2.com/viewforum/5 will log you into all the sites and send you to domain2.com/
    etc.

I want it to return you to the page you just tried to login through.

    I’m running:
    EE 1.6.6 Build 20081114
    MSM 1.1 Build 20081024

    Thanks,
    Jacob

Have you had a chance to look at this Wiki Entry?

I have had a chance to look at it. The only differences I have in my config is that index.php is not included in the “$conf[‘multi_login_sites’]” setting because I have .htaccess rewrites turned on to get rid of the index.php on all pages for SEO purposes. Additionally my $site_index = “”; is left blank in the path.php for the same reason.

To save us some time, I got rid of the .htaccess rewrites on 2 of the sites and followed the config suggestions in the wiki, tested it, and I’m still getting the same exact behavior.

Do you know of any sites utilizing multiple site login? Maybe it is a bug?

This thread solved my problem.  Doublecheck your URL to the root directory.  That’s where I fell down.  Always the simple things, eh?
