This question may be related to a resolved thread.

Even though I managed to resolve this issue, I’d still like to know what caused it.

Anyone know why segment_2 is empty in the url, yet it outputs as ‘&’ in page?

    Cheers.

I thought we had established it was a rewriting issue? If you rewrite your URLs the web server “sees” the new URL, without it visually changing in the browser. That’s why you can remove index.php from your (visual) URL, but the server still acts as if it were there. If you’d remove the template group via rewriting (which we strongly advise against, but some people do anyway) you’d still be able to access it via {segment_1}, eg.

Thanks Ingmar. Clearly I’m no expert on the matter, but when your in-house expert is away on holidays it’s nice to be able to have the experts at EE clear things up for you 😊
