I really feel bad for Abraham Biggs - A teenage boy from Florida who committed suicide online in front of his peers. I mean WTF, couldnt one of his peers call.  It just takes one phone call.  And the comments on the web about this tragic death are horrible (especially from teenagers, and ignorant people).  Of course there are those like myself who are appalled at this behavior.

Ill tell you if i somehow knew about this i would have done something.  My heart goes out to Abraham and his family.

Sad thing is, as technology invades our lives we lose our etiquettes if we dont adapt to that technology and adhere to its principles.

Anyone care to send a shout out or a prayer for this young fellow and his family feel free to do so.

This happened on the bodybuilding.com forums.

    Its very sad.

The saddest part is that the whole scenario could have been prevented or at least safeguards could have been put in place. I am not surprised at all that some of the animals over there goaded someone into committing suicide.  I was a programmer for bodybuilding.com (yes we used CI for parts of the site).  Myself and several other programmers begged the CEO to at very least provide paid/trained moderators.  We envisioned scenarios just like this.  Hell threats against the president have been made in that forum.  Its a bad thing if the secret service has to meet with you on a regular basis.  The forums over there are so big that they literally have online gangs that attack other forums.

Sheesh, online gangs?  Guess folks have nothing better to do, and thats a shame…On a lighter note its good to hear that you all were using CI.

I’m not sure it could be prevented but what i find sad is that no one of the onlookers did something to stop it. Maybe he could have bin a sensationalist but even then people should have acted instead of pretending it’s a fictional action.

i’m not going to play the blame game but i think people should look outside all the boxes they are put in or they put themselves in. For example there are young people here that carry the grudge with them passed on by their grandparents over things that happened during WWII.
How stupid the ‘reality’ show beauty and the nerd may be i like the base idea of the show. It wants to point out everyone is a person an not a fictional character. We are weak and strong, dumb and smart at one time or another.
