I don’t like how the URLs for my site are formatted.

It’s currently something to the effect of:
http://www.domain.tld/path/index.php
http://www.domain.tld/path/index.php/site/about/
http://www.domain.tld/path/index.php/site/contact/

Is there a way to change and/or customize it?

You can remove the index.php with .htaccess see: http://expressionengine.com/wiki/Remove_index.php_From_URLs/

and ExpressionEngine will let you be very flexible with the path, try using the pages module for static pages: http://expressionengine.com/docs/modules/pages/index.html

Is there something specific you want to do with the path?

I’m using EE 1.6.6 and it doesn’t have a Pages module.

I just don’t want the index.php in the path. That’s all.
