I am integrating my third EE site so thanks for the fab CMS app.

I do however have a problem with some deep linking and it’s the second time it has come up.

The site I’m integrating is large and has URLs like:

http://www.mydomain.com/services/broking/risk-management/
http://www.mydomain.com/services/broking/corporate-dealing/

Bearing in mind that each page may have a number of different weblog items e.g. page content, latest news etc. what is the best way to achieve URLs as above?

I believe setting up template groups, templates and categories will get you close.  By using categories and setting a Category URL Indicator (CP Home ›  Admin ›  Weblog Administration ›  Global Weblog Preferences), you’d end up with something like this:

http://www.mydomain.com/template_group/template/url_indicator/category_name/url_title

http://www.mydomain.com/services/broking/category/risk-management/title_of_entry
http://www.mydomain.com/services/broking/category/corporate-dealing/title_of_entry

Another possibility is URL Segments and Conditionals.

It all depends. What is the rest of your URL going to look like? Is one part (say, “services”) staying constant? So far what you are after could be achieved via the standard URL structure of

<a href="http://example.com/index.php/group/template/url_title">http://example.com/index.php/group/template/url_title</a>

I’ve checked through the current site (I’m CMSing a pre-existing static site) and the URLs don’t go any deeper than 3 folders. To give further examples of the site URLs:

http://www.mydomain.com/about-us/
http://www.mydomain.com/contact-us/
http://www.mydomain.com/private-services/broking/risk-management/
http://www.mydomain.com/private-services/broking/corporate-dealing/
http://www.mydomain.com/institutional-services/broking/risk-management/
http://www.mydomain.com/institutional-services/broking/corporate-dealing/
http://www.mydomain.com/how-we-can-help/grow/
http://www.mydomain.com/how-we-can-help/preserve/
http://www.mydomain.com/how-we-can-help/enhance/

(You can assume the last slash refers to index.php)

Will the fact that ‘risk-management’ occurs more than once cause a problem with using url_title?

If not, it sounds like I can achieve any of the above URLs using a combination of template groups, templates and the url_title field as both of you are suggesting. Would I be right in saying that?

I know it should be in feature requests but it applies here.
The ability to set category word indicator on a per weblog basis.

That would be correct. Alternatively, you could use the Pages module and define your URL structure there. If you are using url_titles, though, they need to be unique.
