we’re starting a project at work and we’re considering using Expression Engine as the CMS for the site. It looks like it’ll do everything we want and more, except for one thing that I’ve not yet found a conclusive answer for:
As well as the normal RSS-subscription my designer has also put in a ‘Subscribe via e-mail’ form in the design. Ie, we want the user to be able to receive an e-mail either containing the actual weblog post, or just a notification that the site has been updated every time we post a new entry.
I’ve searched around on the forums and the wiki, and the most relevant thread I’ve found was another user asking exactly the same question here. That thread is over a year and a half old and the answer relating to Feedblitz doesn’t quite seem like an optimal solution. So I’m wondering if there’s been any development done on this, or if somebody has figured it out and can point me in the right direction?
