Hi, is possible to include names of categories (assigned to an entry) in the search when using the simple search form?

e.g. I would like to find the product “Apple” (assigned to a cat called “Fruit”) when I type “Fruit” into the search field.

    Thanks Tom

Not currently.  Right now, the only workaround would be to include the category name in a custom field and include that in the search.  Would that do the trick?  Otherwise, it sounds like a good idea for a feature request.

Hi Robin. Thanks for responding. Adding a custom field would be an idea but is also a big usability drawback for the customer. Mmhh, maybe I could pull it into a custom field automatically when the entry is created or updated.

    Thanks Robin.

Glad to see you got to the bottom of this. Please feel free to make a feature request, and do not hesitate to post again as needed, thanks.
