We are planning on being at SXSW 2009, but we haven’t made any concrete plans on what we’ll actually be doing.

    I’m in. haha.

Hope to finally meet you guys in person… it will make sxsw worth it just for some EE goodness.

    Cheers.

I finished signing up for SxSW 2009 this weekend. (Yeah, running late ... but running!) I did a quick search for EE on the SxSW site, but found nothing, at least so far as “official” events.

Any word yet on EE’s participation?

I’m hoping to have our sxsw 2009 plans public late today or tomorrow. It will most likely be tomorrow.

For sure you can plan on another shindig Saturday night at the Moonshine Grill for the EE Community (around 6pm). This year we are not doing a big public panel and all our events do not require a SXSW badge.

Instead, we’re going to attempt to meet as many people as we can in small groups. We are currently thinking of this as a “Date with EllisLab.” We’ll take people for food, drinks, coffee, heck, the gym… whatever for about an hour. The issue becomes one of scheduling so we’re finalizing a solution to that. Most likely we’ll use Upcoming or Meetup to organize that bit. But our main goal is to give people the opportunity to talk with us, see how we can help each other do better professionally. We learned last year that we’re much better at small groups then big panels.

Solspace is also putting on a Nightcap again (last year’s rocked) and we’re providing Happy Cog with some prizes for their party late Saturday night

And there will also be a community-led business meeting that will be very limited (20-25 people) and require going through an application process. And no, its not 2.0 related, at least not directly. We want to talk to people building businesses around EE and so there is a need for privacy in such a setting.

    Thanks for the info, Leslie.

The business meeting idea is interesting. Perhaps at some future event that could expand to, or grow into separate gatherings for non-profits, or even more specific divisions like schools, colleges and other user categories. Just a quick thought.

Looking forward to seeing everyone again down there!

One day we want to hold our own EE Camp, sort of Barcamp style. There are no concrete plans for that yet but it is a goal of ours.

I noticed that earlier.  I also noticed that they link back to ellislabs.com (with a ‘s’).  Of course, that still works.
