Hi,

I made a subadmin group wich I want to use for admins instead of superadmins.  I got all the functionality setup the way I like but the only problem I have is that the subadmins group is unable to change the password:

Although afaik they do have the ability set to do so :
Looking at the subadmin group permissions the

Can administrate members accounts: YES
under “control panel administration”

Loggin in as a subadmin, searching for the member and then going to the password change form.

I put in his new password.
Your existing password I enter my subadmin password (definitely correct)

Then I submit the change and and it tells me that password is incorrect.

When logging in as super admin it works fine, if there is a security permission missing for subadmins I certainly can’t find it???

No, you’re not missing a setting, only Super Admins are allowed to change passwords without knowing the user’s existing password.  For non-Super Admins, the “current password” must be the member’s current password, not your own.

Hmm, bugger that’s a nuisance, I preferred not having to put people with the ability to change passwords in super admins as this shows them way too many config options which only leads to confusion.

I really think that “Can administrate members accounts: YES ” should allow this functionality to the groups that have been assigned this.

You are certainly welcome to make the appopriate feature request, but that’s the way it currently is. Personally, I think it could be argued that changing users’ passwords is really a superamin-worthy task 😊 MArking that thread as resolved, if anything else comes up, do not hesitate to start a new one. Thanks.
