Google Analytics Question

I’ve been poking around Google Analytics a lot these days, and I’ve noticed some interesting discrepancies.

    The biggest discrepancy is this:

So I’m checking out my top content for yesterday, right? And I notice that one page has 1,500 page views. So I click on that page in Analytics, and select “Entrance Keywords” from the dropdown box.

I see that one keyword was used 858 times from 813 unique visitors. That’s great, I think to myself. That’s a pretty decent small scale keyword.

But when I click traffic sources and examine my search engine performance, I only see 32 instances of that keyword listed.

I’ve looked back through previous dates, and lo and behold, the same thing holds true. According to the content analysis, I’m getting a lot of traffic from some keywords that rarely show up in my search engine keyword reports.

Has anyone else noticed this? I’m wondering if I’ve screwed something up.

I tried to replicate your steps in my own Analytics account and the only thing I can see is that Entrance Keywords displays page views and traffic sources by keyword displays data by visits. They are using a different metric of measurement.
