Oh IE6, I hate you. You suck. You ruined my Tuesday.

Won’t you just die? They tried to replace you, but you won’t go away. I know it’s not your fault. I blame it on Apple’s PR people and the ignorant bloggers fishing for page views. Vista was supposed to be the solution. The final solution. Yet, you are still here.  You mock me.  You mock us all.

Vista was supposed to deliver IE7 but that didn’t work 😊
As people downgrade they are actually bringing back IE6.  Thank you Microsoft for holding back web development yet again.

It isn’t MSFT’s fault.  Their product is good.  Vista is nice.  Their marketers got crushed and I have to pay for it.  Plain and simple.

FWIW: I am seeing about 60/40 for IE7 in stats now. XP compared to Vista is 80/20. You could try one of the pngfix plug-ins that come with jQuery, for example.

There are more problems than .png support which can be worked around.  I spent a whole day working out an issue with floated divs that were not displaying properly.  Creating conditionals and browser specific stylesheets is one thing, having to wrap my markup in container elements that serve no purpose in working browsers and invalidate my markup is another.  I pulled my hair out for 3 hours trying to find a solution to a problem I now believe is impossible to accomplish in a valid way.  I ended up getting the behavior in, but in a funky and invalid way.
