    Hi - I’ve got a problem with two sites under development using the MSM, and it’s one of those “I’ve not changed anything, and suddenly it’s not working” kind of problems! Now, I obviously have done something, but I can’t figure out what. In general: -

    - All the front-end EE functionality is working on both sites, including membership
    - I can see the control panel login, can login, but then the control panel is blank - nothing rendered at all
    - I’ve tried changing sessions / cookies / both with no luck
    - I’ve checked that all files are present and correct
    - I’ve tried every MSM login thread I can find

    And I’m completely flummoxed!

    So it just reloads the login screen when you try to login?  And are you using an admin.php file in each folder for logging into the various sites, or logging into all from a single cp?  And- you tried overriding to sessions only via config.php- and clearing all cookies- and still have the same issue?

    Hi Robin - login to the control panel seems to work (it logs me in on the front end) but then I get a blank (empty source) control panel page. I’ve tried logging in through admin.php, and tried editing config.php to use sessions or just cookies with full cookie clearing too!

    Apart from I’d not tried adding admin.php to the second MSM site and bingo, that works! Thanks for jogging my brain… and ideas how I can get the main site control panel login working again?

    Have you tried using admin.php on the main site as well?

    Hi Sue - yep, I’ve tried admin.php on the main site, and it doesn’t make any difference - still getting the blank control panel!

    And maybe another clue - I can’t switch to the main site when logging-in through admin.php to the second site…

    Hm- I thought it was refreshing.  Blank suggests a php error or possibly a memory issue.  Why it would work from an admin.php I’m not sure.  Hm- you’re trying this as a superadmin- right?  If so- try opening system/index.php and change:

    // DO NOT EDIT BELOW THIS!!!

    error_reporting(0);

    to

    error_reporting(E_ALL);

    Note- that’s the index.php file that’s INSIDE the system folder.

    Get anything after that?

    Hi Robin, yep, trying it as superadmin. Still no output with (E_ALL). To recap: -

    - Site 1 has blank control panel after login (either directly or through admin.php)
    - Site 2 has working control panel (through admin.php) but can’t switch to Site 1

    Hm- do you know if php errors are being suppressed server side?  And- do you have any extensions installed?  Any htaccess in play?

    Hi Robin -

    PHP errors were being suppressed, but they’re not now, and there’s some errors!

    Notice: Undefined index: cp_url in /var/www/vhosts/site1.com/httpdocs/control/core/core.prefs.php on line 173

    OK- that helps.  Can you add the cp_url to your main path.php?  Think that will do the trick.  x-fingers.

    You lost the php error?  What did you put in the… hm.  Go add the cp_url to your system/config.php- remove it from the path.php folder.  That make sense?

    Yep, no errors now. I’ve dropped the cp_url variable from path.php and added it to config.php, but still no luck!
