Hi, new to EE and Multiple sites setup.  Any guidance is very much appreciated.  Thank you.

I have two domains pointing to the same server (IP). domain1.com; domain2.com

I downloaded and installed Multiple Sites earlier today.  I have created a subfolder (site2) within htdocs and deployed (index.php & path.php), adjusted path.php according to the instructions.

I have no issues getting to site2 using http://www.domain1.com/site2 or www.domain2.com/site2.

However, what I am trying to accomplish is have domain2.com point to the “site2” site directly.  Without the addition of the “/site2” to the URL.

I got close by setting up vhosts in apache, but unfortunately, even though the content for site2 would show up, none of the graphics/template information would show up.

    Many thanks in advance.

If you have the content showing, it’s likely just a matter of tweaking a setting.  On site2- look at the content, find a broken image.  Where is it pointing, vs where should it be pointing?  And- how is the image link created?  In other words- what tag is being used to output it in the template?

    Thank you Robin.

It appears it is looking for the assets within the site2 folder (relative to site2) rather than one folder back in the main site1 folder structure.

My system folder for site2 is set to “../system/” within path.php.

Is there anything else I need to set/force for it to pickup the css and other creative content from the correct folder?

    Best Regards.

How are you linking to something that breaks- say the images/css?  In truth- won’t you want to put the css in the new domain?  In which case, linking with the stock {stylesheet} global should work (for css)- because it creates the path based on the site settings- per ‘Admin- System Prefs- Global Settings’.

Robin - thank you for your guidance.  Your questions/queries helped us solve the problem.  The solution was to copy in our “assets” folder (images, CSS, etc.) to the site2 sub-folder.

    Problem solved.

    Best Regards.
