MSM related trackback URL issue

I’ve installed MSM to split my old EE installation with blogs to two sites.

I duplicated my blog entries from site 1 to work on the new site 2 with some real content. Everything worked fine with the MSM patch (http://ellislab.com/forums/viewthread/84227/) and my comments. Now the new site is allmost finished. Now I checked the trackback URLs in the new blog and discovered bug, that - as I think - comes with MSM.

Any trackback-URLs of the duplicated blog entries point to the old blog. The {exp:trackback:url} tag generates wrong entry-IDs (the old ones) in the trackback-URL. On the other side, the RDF-comment contains the correct entry-ID of the duplicated blog entry.

I’ve verified this behavior with new blog entries in the new blog, and there everything works fine. So the problem only occours with the duplicated blog entries.

Furthermore, I can give the following information:  EE seems to listen (in some cases) to the trackback preferences of the old blog/site for duplicated entries. Preferences changes in the new blog do not have an effect on duplicated entries, but on new entries.

In detail (TB preferences on the new site):

    * Randomize Trackback URL - works on new entries | doesn’t work on duplicated entries
    * Use URL Titles in entry identifier URLs? - doesn’t work at all, EE always uses entry-ID’s on duplicated and new entries (even when set in old blog preferences)
    * Add Trackback Auto-discovery code to your pages? - works correct in both, duplicated and new entries on the new site.

I’ve already made a bugtracker entry yesterday (https://support.ellislab.com/bugs/detail/4880/) but until now I didn’t get any answer. Please, can anyone provide a solution?

Dirk- is it mission critical right now?  I could code dive, but I’m not up on trackbacks at all.  Unless the site is bleeding from this, might want to hang tight and give the dev crew time to hit the bug tracker.  They’re speedy, but it’s been less than 24 hours since it was submitted.

    Hi Robin,

yes - for me - it’s time critical, because I finished my work and want do launch the new site. But with trackbacks working. After launch - in therory - I could complete delete the old blog, but this is one-way with no return. And I don’t know what happens then to the duplicated entries, because they still seem to have a kind of “relation” to the old blog.

Dirk, this bug has been fixed for the next release. Are we ready to close this thread?

Yes, it can be closed. And can you say, what version this will be (2.0 finally)?

No, I cannot tell whether there will be another build update before that. If you need the file urgently, you might want to contact Justin directly via mail.
