    Hello there,

Anybody tried a tour reservation system, basically an eCommerce system like Magento/x-cart/zencart but designed for boat rentals or tour reservations.

The company purchased IMS Cart, but it doesn’t offer any documentation, can only be installed by the IMS install team, and is expensive.

Anyone ever had a project like this?

    DON’T USE THEM!!!!!!!

They were a nightmare. This was for a project to create a tour boat reservation system. Part of the system required multipart trips, where you could go from A to B to C, with people getting on and off at different places. They said it wouldn’t be a poblem but some code modifications would need to be done. It was supposed to take less than a month. I believe it ended up taking over 9 months. They wouldn’t return calls for weeks. When we did finally get something it barely worked. Lots of errors. The interface was nonsensical. I couldn’t even figure it out. Luckily I got paid from the client and don’t have to worry about it anymore. But I would say STAY AWAY!!! They were the worst company I have ever worked with.

I haven’t had that bad of an experience yet. But it has not been even “good” by any means.

First, they don’t let you download and install the software on your own. Their “install team” has to have a big list of credentials for your server and installs it for you. It took them 9 days to complete this… so I can’t imagine how long a code modification would take.

    You will…You will…

I don’t understand how they can stay in business.

The market for this kind of software is not very big, and they seem to be the biggest game in town. I’ve searched but haven’t found any other solution worth investigating.
