    Hi,

There’s something I’m doing wrong or not understanding about templates, index page, and sub-pages.

My index page is an *index template in a group selected as “Make the index template in this group your site’s home page”

The index page contains recent blog entries and a static welcome message.

For my site’s static pages (i.e. About, Contact, etc.) I’m using the pages module and a blank index template from another template group that doesn’t contain blog entries and the welcome message.

    Problems:

    1) My index page title tag displays the title of my most recent blog entry and I want it to have its own page title. My template has this code:

    <title>{exp:weblog:entries rdf="off" limit="1"}{custom_field}{/exp:weblog:entries}</title>

All other pages seem to have the correct titles.

    2) My permalink for each blog entry takes me to the single entry just fine, but the entry has my index page welcome message in it. I must be getting my templates and settings mixed up. Makes me wonder whether I’ve got everything setup wrong. 😊

    Any ideas?

Well then, replace everything between <title> ... </title> with the text of your choice; unless I am completely misunderstanding you?

I don’t follow. Are you using the same template for both a list of entries and the single entry page?

    Moving to Howto.
