    Hi friends,

if we have a url like
    http://mysite.com/index.php/name_1/name_2/name_3/name_4/name_5
then we understand its the nesting of sections opening the article page name_5
Whats the best way to get this done in EE ?
Can we have categories in such a way?

    Thanks,
    Davmit

I don’t follow exactly. The default URL structure of EE is

    <a href="http://example.com/index.php/group/template/entry">http://example.com/index.php/group/template/entry</a>

“group” refers to a template goupe, “template” to, well, a template, and “entry” to a url_title, entry_id or other such info. After that, you would want to use {segment_4}, {segment_5} etc. What “sections” are you referring to, by the way?

Thanks, i know the structure that you told above,
basically the url above http://mysite.com/index.php/name_1/name_2/name_3/name_4/name_5  refers to a site in asp which i have to convert to EE
So , is there no different structure in EE for using this Type structure ?
what i am thinking of is , whatever may be the url ,
    for ex:
    http://mysite.com/index.php/name_1/name_2/name_3/name_4/name_5
the last will be my url_title and the 2nd last would be my category.
So even if i go back in the url
    http://mysite.com/index.php/name_1/name_2/name_3/name_4
then my url_title will be “article_4” and category would be “name_3”
Am i going in the right direction ?

What do you mean? You just told me you were aware of EE’s URL structure; no, there is no different structure. You really will need url_segments, I believe.

ok thanks, so i will go ahead with the url_segments,
the only thing is that here i will have to make different template groups for each section (About Us , Overview, etc) of the site.
i Just had a doubt whether we can have that done with a single template group.

    Thanks Anyways

Perhaps you would also like to take a look at the Pages module? It can assist you in the creation of arbitrary URLs.
