    I have a problem with anchor tags that no one has listed here in the forums. I’ve spent the last 2 hours trying everything I can think of and am at the end of my ropes!

    Given the following content in an entry

    <a href="#plant">Planting</a>

    The resulting source code is tuned into this:

    <a href="http://#plant">Planting</a>

    And YES  I have “Automatically turn URLs and email addresses into links?” set to NO in the weblog Posting Prefs.

    Also, given the following content in an entry:

    <a name="plant"></a>

    The resulting code displayed in the browser is:

    [url="#top" name="plant"></a>

    I’m running EE 1.6.3, build 20080319

    Hm, it’s working fine for me, using EE 1.6.3 build 20080421. I don’t recall anything in the changelog, but you never know.

    Do you have any plugins in your template, parsing the custom fields? What code are you using to display the entry?

    Mahalo for the reply, Ingmar. I’m a little late getting back to this thread (understatement) but found myself once again having this problem today when trying to create a link to a specific comment. This is basic HTML and so has been very frustrating.

    But, it’s all working and I wanted to post both the code and a link to the Moderator’s note above (it’s a little small and I missed it on the first read through):

    In the comment itself, I provide the anchor’d link to that actual comment so it’s easy for people to just Right-click and copy the link:

    <div class="posted"><strong>{url_or_email_as_author}</strong>  posted <a href="/segment_1}/{segment_2}/#comment{absolute_count}"><strong>Comment #{absolute_count}</strong></a> on <strong>{comment_date format='%F %d, %Y'}</strong> at <strong>{comment_date format='%h:%i %A'}</strong>.

    Shane:

    Thanks for reporting back, and for the link & code.  Please let us know if you run into anything else.  😊
