Pinging ExpressionEngine.com Issue

    I’ve recently moved my site from Dreamhost to EngineHosting and have been thrilled with their service.  However, about 50% of the time when I post an entry, I receive the following error:

    expressionengine.com - Ping not accepted. You have already pinged in the past 10 minutes.

    As I am the only person that posts on my site, and I don’t have any mechanisms pings expressionengine.com except for new posts, and I don’t post more than twice/day, are there any other reasons that this might be happening?

    As a side note, I wiped the files from my old hosting provider, so that shouldn’t be an issue.

    Are you sure your license info isn’t being used on more than one site?

    Given that I bought my EE license, haven’t shared the license info with anyone, and have only used it on two different EE physical installations (pre move Dreamhost and post move EngineHosting, same site), I’m not sure how that would be possible.  Plus I did make sure to slick the files from Dreamhost when I left.

    Hmmm… that was my first thought. I’ll ask the dev team if they have any ideas.

    OK, two questions…

    Are you on the most recent build/version of EE?

    What is the setting for Ping URL in “My Account”?

    Not on most recent build, am running 1.6.0, 20070815

    You’re quite a few versions back. Is it possible to have you upgrade to the most recent build/version?

    FYI, I just updated my site to 1.6.3, build 20080421

    And I’ll let you know how the pings are working.  Thanks to everybody for the help with this!

    Sorry I didn’t get a post out earlier, work has been somewhat challenging today.

    I did post, and there doesn’t appear to be a problem, I’m hopeful this is fixed.  Please go ahead and close 😊
