With Blaze progressing much slower than I would have liked, I figured it’s time to let the community loose on the project.

After all, this is YOUR CMS!

I’m looking for people who would like to contribute with the project.

Would Love to help but don’t have the time at the moment. I will try to come up with some front end designs if I get time.

I would really like to help, I have some experience in PHP and MySQL and I’ve also been building a CMS for some time (on ice for the moment).
I think it could be a fun and interesting experience.

Also, for those interested… There’s now a ‘bleeding edge’ Blaze demo online

I cannot log in using admin:password.  Is this info incorrect, or did you perhaps grant the demo user permission to change auth information?

Hey, that should be fixed now… set the hourly reset script correctly.

Nice.  One feature you should def. think about is sort filters and pagination on your tables.  Also, a bunch of undefined index errors are thrown if you try to save a blank post.  You should look into that.

Just a question, and don’t take this the wrong way, but what’s the point of licensing it with no derivative work?  It might be “free as in beer”, but that takes some of the “free as in freedom” out of it, doesn’t it?

The license is completely changing for version 1.0
It’s going to be CC by attribution.

The license was in place just as I was getting the ‘proof-of-concept’ ready.

Yeah, full validation is going into 1.0

    I have this:

    http://garymardell.co.uk/blueprint/

design if you want… ive been using it for testing purposes so the thing is coded with blueprint css framework. Also been using it for a to-do list im making in ci.

    Can easily be more blogified.

I did stick EE into the mix, http://garymardell.co.uk/EE/ where i implemented the home page before getting bored.

I did notice one potential problem. While googling “Blaze CMS” I got this:

    http://www.blazecms.com/

Your site looks pretty cool. When is Blaze 1.0 supposed to be done?

This could be an issue of copyright or domain mismatch but should not be major.

This is similar to me because if you search wackywebs there are loads of responses, so it is not really feasible to trademark it, so i trade marked the name WackyWebs.net. This then can only be one item.

The problem isn’t so much about the name of the website, the problem is about the name of the product. If the commercial “Blaze CMS” is a registered trademark, that’s a big issue because they are both the same kind of products (CMS), based on the same kind of technology (PHP)

@Elliot: You should take care about that point, renaming Blaze to something else would avoid you some problems.

This was my point, thanks for making it clearer.

It gets harder and harder to find names and URLs.
