Just a quicky, does anyone have a program/firefox extension which I could use to spell check websites. I don’t mean input boxes I mean the entire site. Reason being I just released a new application with a user guide but have a feeling there is quite a few typos.

My IDE dosn’t have a spell checker. I thought I know ill put it into word and spell check, on saving I found all my styles screwed up and about 1000 extra lines of code.

    So any idea’s?

Which editor do you use?  I tend to rely on textmate or Dreamweavers built in spellcheck when working with views or language files.  I know that’s not super helpful after the fact…

I guess i you buy an IDE you have to keep on buying to make it the perfect IDE 😊

I found that post but must have stopped reading when I saw $30. Looks like I will have to use two IDE’s now one for main development and one for language file/user guide development.

Why not use a lightweight editor for spell checking? I once tried an autohotkey application which provided a cross application spell checker but it crashed frequently so i stopped using it but it was more than half a year ago maybe it got better.

Not sure how many pages long your docs are, but if < 50, it would probably make sense to literally copy/paste them into Pages (or Word or whatever you use) and just manually correct them. It would hardly take much extra time, and the grammar checkers in a proper wordprocessor can’t be beat.

Just make sure you copy the text from the live website, and not an IDE, as from an IDE it would copy the code when you want the text.
